There is no better way to improve and practise a language than by having a full immersion in the country, mingling with locals and appreciating the culture and history. This is exactly what the participants of our language immersion programmes do. Here are some tips to make the most out of this exciting experience.

We encourage you to use the target language at all times. Do not worry if you make mistakes. We all know how tricky it can be to speak a foreign language. We are on holiday and the relaxing atmosphere will help you to gain confidence.

In the classroom:

Classes are designed to accommodate different levels. All the materials are adapted accordingly. Sometimes the group will be split into two giving every member an appropriate and challenging level of participation. If, at some point, you feel that the level is too high, take it as a challenge. Do not hesitate to ask if you don’t understand something. Teachers can also give you extra material such as exercises, articles etc. to enable you to practise more.

During activities:

We will participate in different activities and interact with guides and locals who will speak the target language. This is the perfect opportunity to put your language skills into practise! You will hear different accents and people will speak at different speeds. You don’t need to understand everything 100%, just try to focus on keywords. Before the activities, we may practise some useful vocabulary which will help put everything into context.

During your free time:

You will have the chance to speak the target language while shopping or at restaurants. Most of our destinations are far from very touristy areas. At times, you may prefer to have some time to yourself so feel free to get some rest or be on your own. You can also meet with other participants to wander around and it is totally fine to speak in your own language. The choice is yours. It is your trip and we understand it is good to have a break from learning sometimes.

During the trip:
