About the trail
Enjoy a unique trip through some of the most important places in the Spanish language history on this totally tailor-made Spanish immersion programme.
The Spanish language trail is designed for those Spanish lovers who, as well as practising the language, want to delve into its origins and learn a little bit more about its history together with the learning about the most important writers of Spanish literature. A trip that takes us to cities and towns in the regions of Madrid and Castilla y León.
Explore two regions in seven days
The trip starts in Madrid. During our stay in the capital of Spain, we will visit Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO World Heritage city and the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes.
Another UNESCO World Heritage city will be our host city in Castilla y León: Salamanca. This is where the first grammar of the Castilian language was written and its university is one of the most prestigious in the world. From here, we will visit other important cities to discover the origin of the Castilian language such as Valladolid and many more interesting and charming places.
A trail filled with history and culture to learn about the Spanish language and to practise – A full language immersion.
Spanish course and methodology
The Spanish language trail offers a total of 8 hours of lessons, both indoors and outdoors, taught by experienced native teachers specialising in Spanish as a foreign language.
The Spanish course included in this immersion programme is designed to put different language skills into practice and is the perfect complement to the activities, visits and excursions that are part of the trip. The classes help participants to expand vocabulary and gain confidence in expressing themselves in Spanish to assure a complete immersion.
The classes are adapted to the level of the students. This programme also offers the opportunity to learn about Spanish literature and some of Spain’s most famous writers.
ACCOMMODATION
The best place to start this journey about the Spanish language is the literary Quarter (Barrio de las Letras) in Madrid. The hotel is located in this central and lively neighbourhood in the Spanish capital, which is closely linked to Spanish literature. It has been the home of some of the most important writers over the centuries.
In Castilla y León we also stay in a cosy and very central hotel right in the heart of Salamanca, ideal for exploring this beautiful and historic city.
